Stuck. Resentful. Unfulfilled. Suffering. Sad. Even explosive.
I never knew what rage felt like until I blogged this:
“So far I’ve yelled on 8 of [the 17 days my husband’s been gone], cried on 4, thrown things on 1, taught the kids every swear word I know, and let them hear me say I hate being with them all the g*ddamn time. No, I wasn’t meant to be a mom, especially not alone.”
And it continued on. Because, for as much as I wanted to be “normal,” to be the amazing mom I knew I could be, to be loving and peaceful and calm and fun, I had no clue how to do that. How to fix things. How to fix me.
I bet you’re the same way. Kickass mom. Shitty situation.
Eventually, I worked my way through to the other side of rage and utter misery, but even then I was still just getting by. Still mostly caged by a life that wasn’t as inspiring as I’d like. Not as much freedom or joy as I’d like. Not as much personal fulfillment or fun with my family or plain old relaxation.
And then I stumbled upon coaching, and it helped me build all of these things into my life.
As a result, I’ve moved from surviving motherhood to thriving in it. Thriving in my life. Not in a Pinterest-y sort of way but in an excited-to-get-out-of-bed-every-morning-and-live-my-life kind of way.
Following my north star. Deepening connection with my husband. Having relaxed and loving interactions with my kids. Feeling joy and presence and calm. Creating inner freedom. Making wild and unpredictable and “irresponsible” decisions–because they feel right. Knowing who I am and that I’m enough.
Not living in perfection but still living it up.
The same is possible for you too.
You can overcome rage and then go beyond that even–to making the most your limited number of trips around the sun.
